Basically the same material as in the 3rd edition, the main differences are a much clearer presentation and the inclusion of colour pictures of almost every significant variation.  Models spanning the transition period from 'Regular' to Superfast are now given separate entries.  Shown here is page 1 covering the seven models which carried the number 1 over the 30 years that Lesney Products and Co. Ltd. was making "Matchbox" Toys, together with the first page of illustrations.

Accessory Series, Major Packs and Long Haul Models are all included.

Every colour and other major variation (including promotional models) is described, in sequence, with its date of issue and the number of years it was in the line.   Very nearly all are illustrated.  Regional issues are clearly identified.  Models made for the American market are recorded under their US numbers and are fully cross-referenced in the main index and in an appendix.  Other appendices gather together many details not generally known and not easily found elsewhere.

The catalogue includes details of the models made in England during the three years after Lesneys went out of business and before all "Matchbox" production was moved to the Far East.             Matchbox Toys Catalog
