The seat of the Earls of Wemyss (Earldom created 1633) is Wemyss Castle.  Details of their families are recorded in the Wemyss parish registers.  One imagines that there would be a family link (however distant) between all those having the Wemyss surname.

Note that Nicolas is a girl's name (compare the modern Nicola), and that in some published LDS files it is given in the male form, Nicholas.  The names of the witnesses at the registration of births for the children are given in Robert BROWN's record in this file.
